        Our thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Durman of the Lexington Police Department. He was killed in the line of duty last night. Our prayers also go out to his family, friends, and co-workers.

      • Search Warrant Executed
        04/30/10
        A search warrant was executed today at 1282 KY 38 by Harlan PD officers. The search was a result of a recent investigation lead by Officer George Young regarding the illegal sale of alcohol in a dry territory. A large number of assorted beer, whisky, liquor and money were located at the residence.

      • Law Enforcement Memorial

        Former Chief James C. Pope will be placed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial during the week of May 9-15th in Washington DC.       • Busy Day!

        We had a busy day at HPD. On 4-27-10, Officer George Young lead an investigation that lead to a search warrant being served. During the search warrant, 2 Baxter men were arrested. Emory Green Jr, 37 was charged with Illegal Sale of Alcohol in a Dry Territory, Resisting Arrest and other charges.

      • Highway Safety Program

        The Highway Safety Program has begun. As usual, HPD will be participating in the program. Officers will be working overtime looking for speeders, seat belts and people driving under the influence. So everyone slow down and buckle-up and find a don't drink and drive!
